About the concept behind the festival:
Jacelyn Biondo, Kristen Shahverdian and Zornitsa Stoyanova have been thinking a lot about presence and its relation to performance as of late.  Kristen thinks of presence as a place of losing oneself and of being incredibly aware of oneself.  She says it is the place where the space between audience and performer has volume and electricity.  Zornitsa is particularly interested in presence during interaction with the audience; she calls that the social aspect of presence during performance.  Jacelyn finds presence to be a consuming holding environment.  She love that presence can demand things, both beautiful and uncomfortable, of observers. The three agree that presence plays a significant role in performance and want to spend a weekend exploring it with like-minded artists.
