Screendance Mentorship International Mon. & Wed.
πππThis is a mentorship program for the artists who are just starting, or want to start but are not sure how. If you have a phone camera a go pro or even an old DV8 camera and want to start creating art by recording dance and movement, this is the program for you.
πππThis is an artist-led mentorship program, and the direction will be taken from the projects of the artists. Possible directions are working with found footage, filming dance, choreographing the film(but not filming a dance per se), working with live feed special effects for virtual live shows, and many others.
πππZornitsa will offer instructional workshops on theory, composition for the camera as well as software and tech possibilities. Every one of the participants will have direct contact with her over email during the mentorship program and outside of the allocated meeting times.
πππIn addition to helping complete their screendance and the personal feedback sessions, participants will also receive a certificate of completion as well as an organized public online showing of their work through the BodyMeld platform.

After Nov. 1st: 400 Euro

About the teacher:
Zornitsa Stoyanova’s screendance and art films have been shown in festivals across the U.S. and in Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Bulgaria, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Bangladesh. Her work is process-driven using mobile and web camera technology, mixing live performance with pre-thought filmed choreography. She is drawn to surrealism – layering images that create the illusion of the multitude of identities we all carry with us.
Zornitsa’s mentoring is always focused on the artist. Her mission is to help artists all over the world create their best work with what they already have or can easily get. She teaches in an artist-focused and led way and uses mobile media, webcams, and consumer software that is affordable and/or easily accessible to everyone.
Instead of focusing on the need for professional tech, she helps artists hone their voice and need for expression and create their best work with what is available now.
COST:
Early bird until Nov. 1st – 320 Euro
After Nov. 1st – 400 Euro
***All proceeds from this mentorship program are going toward the research, production, and payment of participating artists in Zornitsa Stoyanova’s new stage work Brutal Honesty to premiere in Spring 2022.
