Brutal Honesty is a performance improvisation practice of spontaneous language in dance. It explores the notion of not censoring oneself and unearthing truths of the here and now. In our present world, where “alternative fact” is still a saying and the truth about anything is hard to find, this practice brings the question of what is real, and honest, and true to the individual.

The generation of language and movement initiates from the sensual body, our memories, feelings, and the here and now.

Within this practice, Stoyanova works with repetitions, derailed desire, the form of the confessional, the highly emotional, and the vulnerable.
